Here's a quick video on three things that landlords and property managers should know about Governor Beshear's latest Executive Order, which you can read in its entirety here.  BUSINESS CLOSINGS All businesses that are not considered “Life Sustaining” must cease operations effective at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 26, except as needed to conduct Minimum Basic Operations. As of now, it is my position that Property Management companies falls within the definition of a Life Sustaining Business. The language of the order defines a Life Sustaining Business to include those that “provide construction or maintenance of residential . . ....

Here's a quick video on the current state of affairs regarding evictions in Kentucky.    UPDATE - March 18, 2020 - 4:30 p.m.  HUD has announced the following:  "Properties secured by FHA-insured Single Family mortgages are subject to a moratorium on foreclosure for a period of 60 days. The moratorium applies to the initiation of foreclosures and to the completion of foreclosures in process. Similarly, evictions of persons from properties secured by FHA-insured Single Family mortgages are also suspended for a period of 60 days." COVID-19, the Coronavirus, has turned life upside down for just about everyone, including landlords.
