KY Supreme Court: No More 14-Day Continuances for Eviction Cases

Posted by Stephen Marshall on

BREAKING: The Kentucky Supreme Court issued a new order today that rescinded a prior order requiring a two-week continuance on non-payment of rent eviction cases if the tenant appeared in court. Effective immediately, landlords are eligible to get a judgment of eviction at the first court appearance. You can read the new order here.

This is a return to the pre-COVID procedures and should go a long way towards getting cases resolved in a much quicker and more efficient manner, which will reduce docket sizes and reduce the delay between the time that you file your eviction and the time that you go to court.

That's all for today. Reach out to me at smarshall@tripleslaw.com if you'd like to work together.
