Statewide Eviction Postponement Update (March 17-18, 2020)

Here's a quick video on the current state of affairs regarding evictions in Kentucky.    UPDATE - March 18, 2020 - 4:30 p.m.  HUD has announced the following:  "Properties secured by FHA-insured Single Family mortgages are subject to a moratorium on foreclosure for a period of 60 days. The moratorium applies to the initiation of foreclosures and to the completion of foreclosures in process. Similarly, evictions of persons from properties secured by FHA-insured Single Family mortgages are also suspended for a period of 60 days." How to Ban Former Tenants and Unwanted Guests

Almost everyone in the rental industry has dealt with a tenant that, for whatever reason, they do not want to return to the property. Unfortunately, banning someone from your property is not as simple as telling them not to come back. A Response to a Hit Piece on Landlords

On October 13, 2017, the Lexington Herald-Leader ran a front-page article that was nothing more than a hit piece against Lexington's private rental industry. The article's purpose, other than perpetuating a false narrative against landlords, was to promote a report released by the Lexington Fair Housing Council titled Locked Out: Foreclosure, Eviction and Housing Instability in Lexington, 2005-2016.
